Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are between Ilatech Software FZE (“Akrasia”, “we”) and you, who use the Akrasia mobile app and the akrasiaapp.com website (the “Service”). By using the Service, you represent that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Akrasia is a self-awareness and personal-growth app that helps you notice patterns in your behavior. It generates AI-assisted insights from photos you take and notes you enter.

Akrasia is NOT a health, medical, or therapeutic service. The insights it generates are for informational and self-observation purposes; they are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment, or professional mental-health care. If you have a health concern, consult a qualified professional.

2. Eligibility and Account

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you are 18 or older.

You must provide accurate information, are responsible for the security of your account and credentials and for all activity under your account, and must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Subscriptions, Fees, and Renewal

Akrasia Pro is offered as a monthly or annual subscription; current prices are shown within the Service. Depending on the purchase channel, payments are charged via the Apple App Store, Google Play, or third-party payment providers (Stripe, RevenueCat).

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel; the renewal fee is charged before the end of the current period. You may cancel anytime — App Store/Play purchases in that store's account settings, web purchases in the account management section — effective at the end of the current period.

Refunds for App Store/Play purchases are subject to those stores' policies. Where a free trial is offered, if you do not cancel during the trial, the subscription fee is charged automatically at the end of the trial.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully or in a way that infringes others' rights; reverse-engineer, copy, or create unauthorized derivative works; compromise the Service's security or overload its infrastructure; gain unauthorized access to another user's account; access the Service via automated tools (bots, scrapers); or upload photos of others without their consent.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, software, branding, and logos of the Service belong to Akrasia or its licensors. These Terms grant you only the right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Your content: photos you upload and data you enter remain your property. To provide the Service (e.g., processing a photo for analysis), you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them solely for delivering the Service to you.

6. AI-Generated Content

Insights generated by Akrasia are created by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You are responsible for any decisions you make based on these insights. Treat them not as absolute truth but as a starting point for self-observation.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty, express or implied; Akrasia is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service; and Akrasia's total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

You may terminate these Terms anytime by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. Processing of your data after termination is governed by the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time and will notify you of significant changes. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law and Contact

These Terms are governed by the federal law of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes are subject to the competent courts of Ajman. Your mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence remain reserved.
